Sex!

In this day and age sex has become as common as talking about what your watching on tv. No longer is this hush hush thing talked about in back alleys. Cause EVERYONE is doing it. Really? Cause I'm not and some of my friends arent. Lately it seems that sex has become a prerequisite to being in a relationship. "If you like me you'll sleep with me" LIKE?? seriously it use to be love but its been so degraded over the years. No longer is it man and wife or your fiance or the guy you think you'll be with forever. Its that guy, that you went on one date with who has this girlfriend but they're not really together anymore and you were drunk at the party and figured hey i'm bored lets do it. Its as if having sex has become the last trend. Everyone wants to try it out. Like drinking, or drugs, or buying a certain cd. Its no longer a special thing that happens between u and the person you love, just whats popular.

I'm not saying that premarital sex is bad. What I am saying is sex that is with someone that you dont love or care about, is retarded. People that go around sleeping with basically anyone are so careless, they dont even consider the psychological after effects of all of this. All they 're oing is trying to get affection and attention and sleeping with people is the only way they know how to get it. why is that ok in our society? What changed? Som want to blame it on tv or music. You can really put the blame on anything but the people that take part in the act.

I however want to push the blame towards parents and schools. Even our very own Sarah Palin whose daughter is pregant does not believe that schools should teach sex ed. well ok, then the parents are suppose to? Obviously she didnt teach her daughter the birds and the bees correctly. But its not just her, parents no longer feel obligated to tell there children what to do, they figure "hey they'll learn from they're friends" And its true kids will learn all about sex from friends but not values and morals that should go along with it. My parents never sat me down and talked about sex specifically. My mom told me though that if i couldnt live with the responsibilities that come with being sexually active then i needed to keep my legs closed. Well guess what? They're still closed. I know that I cant get that close to a person yet. I'm not ready. Its hard enough for me to keep interest in a guy for more that 3 months. Our society just doesnt like to get down to the nitty gritty that there are other things in life that can be pleasurable other than sex. Not to be gross but even high position people have said use masturbation, oral, or dry before you even consider intercourse. Even all of them still have consequences they're less major. What really bothers me is the fact that 13yr olds now believe that its ok for them to be having sex. Well guess what, ITS NOT! Cause you dont know your body or your own feelings. As much as you'd like to say that you are ready, your not.

Another thing is the lack of protection and even concern for it. I mean schools arent teaching sex ed but they'd gladly give out condoms. Ok thats going to do a load of good, when you dont even explain that they're not 100%. Use birth control. All of the urban myths aren't true. You will get pregnant on your period, pulling out wont stop it either. Also teens are starting to use abortions as "birth control". Sorry to tell you but thats not why they're there. Cause if your stupid enough to not use protection or take a pill, then tough luck deal with it. Everything comes with a reaction. Dont just get an abortion,thats not the answer. To get technical ABSTINECE is the only way to not get pregnant. I wont go that far. But seriously our generation just needs to wake up and take a look a round and realize that what they're doing isnt just fun and games anymore.

So because of all of this, I am a virgin. And I plan on keeping it that way till I am absolutely head over heels in love and ready for anything that could possibly come along. In our time there are just to many risks that out weigh the positive.

Basically this was a complete rant that started from my ethics class when we where talking about abortions and stuff. Now i feel better. lol
